Course Content

This qualification is designed for learners looking to develop their skills and techniques and to provide an understanding of graphic design.   

The qualification aims to provide basic graphic design skills and an understanding of the main principles of graphic design, giving a strong foundation for progression into further study.   

This qualification will:   

  • enable learners to develop basic graphic design skills  
  • provide learners with an underpinning knowledge of graphic design processes and principles  
  • enable learners to use materials, tools and equipment competently and safely.

Level 2 Certificate in Photography It may also be useful to learners studying qualifications in the Arts, Media and Publishing sector.

Entry Requirements

The course has no entry requirements, but it is preferred that has an interest in graphic design and has a basic level of written English.

Assessment

The Level 1 Award in Graphic Design is internally assessed and externally quality assured. Each learner must create a portfolio of evidence generated from appropriate assessment tasks, which demonstrates achievement of all the learning outcomes associated with each unit. The assessment tasks should allow the learner to respond to a real-life situation that they may face when in employment. teaching and learning hours.
