Course Content

A stepping stone into the knowledge needed to work in a school or college environment when working directly with children and young people. It will enable learners to gain an understanding of elements including children and young people’s development and safeguarding their welfare.

To achieve the Award the learner must complete 4 mandatory units.

The qualification will focus on:

  • provide learners with knowledge and understanding needed to work in a school or college environment
  • provide a stepping stone into further learning within the sector.

Progression

Into further study or employment as:

  • Teaching Assistant
  • Learning Support Assistant
  • Special Needs Assistant
