Ironically, Virtuous Stanmore students attend a ‘Wicked’ performance!

Wednesday, 16th March saw students from Early Years, ESOL and Health & Social Care (16–19-year-olds) enjoy a complimentary trip to the Apollo Victoria Theatre in the West End. The students enjoyed a performance of ‘Wicked The Musical’ based on an alternative reading of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ that challenges preconceptions of what is ‘good’ and what is considered ‘wicked’.  This performance was particularly appropriate as the trip was the students’ reward for having displayed exceptionally good behaviour and attendance over a prolonged period.

Staff members, Mafa Ardestani, Louise Tysoe, Sarah Nduati and Calvin Bennion accompanied our lovely students.

When asked what they thought of the performance, it was apparent from their enthusiasm that they had greatly enjoyed it. Early Years’ student, Salsabil, told us ‘I would definitely go again, I had never been to the theatre before, and it was an amazing experience. The storyline was funny as well’. Student Abigail commented ‘I had been to the theatre before but not a large one like the Apollo in Victoria – the acting was brilliant and the whole show was really entertaining, it was fantastic’.
