Course Content

This course will introduce you to a range of Art, Design and Media skills including photography, drawing, printmaking, graphic design and animation. You will work with a variety of materials and techniques both traditional and digital, and software including Photoshop.

You will explore the work of artists, designers and media practitioners and will go on trips to complete primary research to help you develop your own ideas. At the end of the course you will have an exhibition of your work.

Progression

Most young people studying on the Creative study programme progress to university to study Graphic Design, Games Design, Animation, Architecture, Fine Art, Film, Interior Design, Illustration, Photography.

Stanmore College has an excellent reputation for progression to higher education with success up to 20% higher than the London average for colleges.

The Digital Skills study programme has been designed to give you an even better chance of getting into the university of their choice through the addition of specific activities. These will be augmented with HE talks, visits and workshops at the end of the first year of study. However, many students also enter straight into the industry.

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs at grades E including Engish and maths. Students are also expected to show a portfolio of artwork at interview.
