Visiting the Royal Academy

Level 3 yr 2 art and design student primary research task for their Social Issues project. 

The class visited the leading female performance artist Marina Abramovic exhibition at the Royal Academy. She is the first female to have a solo show at the Royal Academy in the history of the museum. Before the students when to the exhibition they explored her earlier work and discussed the relationship between viewer and artist and the male gaze. The students read extensively about the artists work and what the work is about before going to the exhibition.
