Student Awards Evening

We had a lively evening celebration our students with our Student Awards Evening on June 19, 2024.

Governors, students, parents, and staff gathered in the Sports Hall to give recognition to our hard talented and driven students. Over 50 students were nominated and 40 attended, many with both parents. Nominations were for the following categories:

  • Career readiness
  • Employer projects
  • Future leaders
  • Most improved
  • Outstanding achievements
  • Resilience and perseverance
  • Shining starts

The energy in the room was exciting and positive. The College was exceptionally delighted to have Cllr Anjana Patel, Deputy Mayor of the London Borough of Harrow, join us for the evening. The Deputy Councillor took the stage a well-received speech. Together with our principal Annette Cast, they both personally presented each winning student with their award.

The Mayor later said:  ‘I enjoyed the award ceremony and speaking with students, parents, teachers, and the Governors. It was very inspiring and a wonderful event with a beautiful plan’.

Our Head of Faculty Professional Services, Abul Ali, described the event as celebratory and upbeat. He thought the event set up took a lot of time and effort and was very well organised for our students and guests to enjoy. To him the Student Award evenings are an opportunity to validate the students for their hard work and dedication. In his words: ‘I am proud to play a part in the journey of the learners’.

Acknowledging our students for their talents plays a big part in encouraging their growth. Being a part of their journey, witnessing them develop their talents and ambitions, is an important part of how we want our students to experience their time at Stanmore College.

Our thanks to everyone who attended, and to the Governors. Another memorable evening, and a great time that was enjoyed by all.
