Stanmore Studios Launch Event
Stanmore College celebrates launch of state-of-the-art Stanmore Studios with Community and Industry Partners
On November 6 2024, Stanmore College proudly unveiled its cutting edge creative media hub, Stanmore Studios, in a launch event filled with energy and excitement. Hosted by the Media Department, the evening brought together alumni, local businesses, industry partners, Governors, freelancers, and other esteemed guests who joined in to celebrate the latest addition to the college's creative and technological landscape.
The event began with a warm welcome and an inspiring speech from College Principal Annette Cast, followed by a ceremonial ribbon cutting led by Assistant Principal Stephanie Chittenden. Honorary guests, including Roger Henderson (Managing Director of Scirra Ltd) and Elliot Zabaroff (Developer from Inhalation) were present to witness the start of what promises to be a transformative space for media and design education.
Throughout the evening, guests were invited to explore the Stanmore Studios extensive facilities, which include virtual reality (VR) stations, a game design studio, iMac edit suites, a 360 degree green screen studio, a fully equipped sound booth and podcast space. Attendees engaged in speed networking and experienced hands-on demos that showcased the advanced capabilities of each creative station.
The true highlight of the night was the grand reveal of the Stanmore Studios sign, lit up in a vibrant display of colours and synchronised with cutting-edge LED lighting and technology. The illuminated sign symbolises the college's commitment to fostering an innovative environment for media arts and production.
"We’re thrilled to launch Stanmore Studios" said Principal Annette. "This is a major step forward, not only for our students who will benefit from these resources but also for local creatives who can now access a state-of-the-art facility right here in Stanmore."
Stanmore Studios is poised to become a vital resource for students pursuing careers in creative design, technology, communications, and for local artists, podcasters, videographers, and other creatives in need of a professional studio space. As a an flagship facility, exclusive to the local area, Stanmore Studios exemplifies the college's dedication to supporting the creative community and setting new standards in media education.
With its official opening, Stanmore Studios stands ready to help students and professionals alike bring their creative visions to life, right at the heart of Stanmore College.
