Stanmore College’s Voluntary Action Team launches community clean-up initiative

6th September 2023 saw Stanmore College’s Voluntary Action Team undertake their first litter picking session in the local area with the goal of contributing to the community by clearing the local residential streets and communal areas of litter.

Stanmore College is keen to help the community to improve the environment; we all desire clean and healthy surroundings.

Starting from Old Church Lane, staff picked up litter from the sidewalk and roads with their litter pickers in hand. Empty bottles, cans, cigarette butts, and plastic were collected in plastic bags and disposed in appropriate bins on return.

Stanmore College’s Voluntary Action Team also visited Bernays Gardens, Elm Park, Nelson Road and Bernays’ Close.

Staff and students are encouraged to join the weekly litter picking initiative. If you would like to participate, contact enquiries@stanmore.ac.uk
