Groundbreaking Event at Stanmore College!
Stanmore College has officially commenced construction on its new, cutting-edge campus following a Groundbreaking ceremony with Bouygues UK on 12 September.
Local leaders, including the Mayor of Harrow, Salim Chowdhury, Councillor Zak Wagman from Harrow Council and the Department for Education (DfE), joined college staff to mark this significant milestone.
Funded through the DfE’s Further Education Improvement Programme, the project will replace four outdated buildings with modern, sustainable facilities designed to enhance both learning and community engagement. Expected to be completed by summer 2027, the new campus will serve as a hub for education, training, and collaboration, benefiting not only students but also the wider Stanmore community.
Principal Annette Cast highlighted the project's community focus: “This new campus will provide state-of-the-art, inclusive learning spaces that empower students while supporting the community by offering education and training that lead to meaningful employment opportunities.”
Mayor Salim Chowdhury echoed these sentiments, stating, “Stanmore College has long been a cornerstone of our community, and this redevelopment will strengthen its role at the heart of Stanmore and beyond.”
Designed with sustainability and adaptability in mind, the new campus will play a crucial role in ensuring Stanmore College continues to meet the educational needs of both its students and the wider community. This transformative project will foster growth, development, and lifelong learning while serving as a central hub for education and community engagement. By offering top-tier learning and training opportunities, the new campus will further strengthen Stanmore College’s role as a key educational institution.
