Employers onboard influencing the curriculum and working with Stanmore College
Friday 26th May saw yet another productive and engaging Employers’ Networking Breakfast at Stanmore College. The agenda was carefully set out to drive engagement, and it certainly did that. Our motivated local businesses were keen to participate and share ideas and suggestions and many of these are already well on their way to being fulfilled. 15 businesses were represented from across a variety of sectors which enabled all aspects of the curriculum offered at Stanmore College to be considered. After a short Introduction from the Principal, Annette Cast, Viresh Paul, Business owner of Paul & Co, Chartered Accountants, Stanmore College governor and Immediate Past President, London Society of Chartered Accountants at ICAEW delivered a guest speech encouraging other businesses to take this fantastic opportunity to influence the future workforce.
Heads of School and members of the Executive Team of the College subsequently led break-out groups by industry sector to consider objectives and an exemplary list of actions followed.
The event concluded with refreshments and networking over breakfast; feedback was positive and the College welcomes businesses who would like to attend future meetings to get in touch by contacting Barbara Stone at b.stone@stanmore.ac.uk
