Art students meet with UAL students

Rhiann Malaya

Content creator, Film and TV student

Rhiann applied for the UAL Insights programme as she wanted to experience different areas of art and see what the university campus and teachers were like in person before applying to UAL through UCAS.

Having attended the Insights programme, she decided she wanted to become a specialist in TV and film. Rhiann commented on having met many new people on the programme and, as a result, when returning to the university to undertake her degree, she was joining others who she knew already.

Rhiann took a gap year so that she could experience a work placement opportunity. She was able to take on the role of assistant producer whilst working on an advertisement for Disney. Rhiann now has extensive experience working in TV and film and has done everything from building a set to directing.

Rhiann currently creates reels for companies and has worked with Sky creating video adverts. In the future, she plans to continue to travel, try out new foods and open her own talent agency.

Jasmine Lee

Graphics and Media Design student

Jasmine joined UALs Insights programme to experience working with others, to view the studio spaces on offer, and to try out all forms of art.

Jasmine subsequently applied to UAL and received opportunities to go on internships and earn money through commissions while finishing her degree. She shared her work that she had created whilst she participated in a rebranding project.

UAL is made up of six colleges. It has over 19,000 students from all over the world. UAL enables students to become specialists in their field and has many options for industry placements.
