Being an apprentice means that you can gain the skills and qualifications you need for your chosen career while gaining experience and earning a wage. Apprenticeships are available for anyone who is over 16 years old, living in England and not already in full-time education. You can apply if you are still at school and there is no upper age limit for apprenticeships.31 As an apprentice you will: ◊ work alongside experienced staff; ◊ gain job-specific skills; ◊ access excellent progression opportunities for study or work; ◊ earn a wage and receive holiday pay; ◊ study towards a relevant qualification, which is usually one day per week in college.
