The Uniformed Public Services Diploma Level 3 (NCFE) provides an in-depth understanding of the uniformed services sector, helping you explore various career paths within it. It focuses on building transferable skills useful in both the workplace and further study. This qualification is ideal if you’re interested in careers with the Army, Navy, RAF, Police, Fire, or Prison Services, offering an introduction to these fields, though specific training for sub-specialisms is provided upon entry into each profession.
The course covers preparing for a career, recruitment interview preparation, fitness and personal commitment requirements, and how uniformed services respond to emergencies. You’ll also develop key skills like leadership, teamwork, conflict management, and communication. Units include topics like career preparation, service hierarchy, discipline, crime scene investigation, and more.
This qualification prepares you for further study or entry into employment, equipping you with the knowledge and skills needed to pursue a career in the uniformed services.

Assessment
The assessment process measures your skills and knowledge against the qualification standards. You’ll create a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate achievement of all learning outcomes, and must declare that your work is your own, with the Assessor countersigning. Work will mostly be completed during class time, with some tasks set for outside research. All work must be authenticated and verified by your Tutor to ensure it’s your own.
