Learning a new vocational skill is only one part of what College life is about. Work Placement is an important part of your course and is designed to help you to develop additional job-specific skills in a hands-on way that will compliment what you are learning in the classroom.

We want to make certain that all students leave Stanmore College with a full range of skills and the knowledge needed to improve their chances of getting the career they want. Work Placement at Stanmore College is designed to give you a taster and insight into future career options and give you the exposure into what it is like to be employed. Having a period of Work Placement on your CV is always something employers are looking for and it gives you an extra edge to your CV and provides you a story to talk about at job interviews.

Research suggests that 74% of employers think work placement is crtical or significant when recruiting young people. Often a work placement can lead to an offer of part time work.

This interactive online workshop focuses on the non-clinical roles within the NHS. These include roles in Finance, Administration, I.T, Leadership and Management and Operations. The NHS offers many meaningful and valuable roles. The majority of NHS volunteer roles will not require previous experience or specific skills as training and induction will be given.
