Stanmore College Distance Learning
Covid-19 has brought many things to the fore such as helping others in the community, valuing our freedom to travel and spend time with others more, and it has increased the pace of digital transformation worldwide fundamentally changing how we operate and deliver through multiple channels. Stanmore College is always adapting and embracing change to meet the demands and needs of those we serve. In line with this the College is now offering distance learning (online courses) for adults. Many people have been on furlough and, sadly, the number of those out of work has increased and we have a responsibility to provide opportunities to help others in the community to build new skill sets that open doors to new or improved careers. Distance learning is a great way of learning remotely and helping to meet these needs. Adults undertaking these courses will not have to attend lessons in a classroom and can study at their own pace in their own homes around family life and other commitments. There will incur no travel costs and still acquire new qualifications in under 18 weeks.
The evening of Wednesday, 31st March saw the launch of Stanmore College’s new Distance Learning provision. There was a large amount of interest expressed in the wide variety of courses on offer and those present were keen to take away lots of information for family and friends. Barbara Stone, Business Development Manager and Kay Sian, Employer Engagement Administrator, were on hand to tell potential students more about these great new opportunities that the College is providing. The online courses at level 2 include Mental Health, Information, Advice or Guidance, Counselling, Caring for Children and Young People, Personal Exercise, Health & Nutrition, Awareness of Bullying, Caring for the Elderly and Special Education Needs & Disabilities. Level 3 courses include Understanding Autism, Mental Health, Principles of End Of Life Care and Understanding the Principles of Dementia Care so there’s a great list to choose from. Adults who are interested should email firstname.lastname@example.org saying which course appeals to them or simply call the college.
