On the 1st of December, an arts officer from the Courthauld Institute; a university and art gallery in London, ran a workshop via Microsoft Teams. It included drawing exercises based around different perspectives, multiple view points and blind drawing.
Our first year level 3 art students are starting a new project based around animation and architecture. The session was a research workshop looking at artists that work with architectural themes.
Students learnt what psychogeography is and became familiar with artists in the field. Larissa Fassler, David Hockney and Julie Mehretu were all mentioned for their use of psychogeography.
On the 25th of November, Stanmore Art College welcomed Dora Malaudi ; a 2nd year fine Art and mixed media student from Westminster University. She delivered a presentationed (via MS Teams) to both our first and second year Llevel 3 students about studying at Westminster University and the variety of projects they would tackle during their studies. Dora shared many of the students’ work through their Instagram page and displayed the different types of media used to express their pieces of work. She also shared the successes of their Alumni and made reference to the resources their students have available to them.
