Course Content
The Business and Sports course is a two-year programme for students who have an interest in both sport and business and want to gain knowledge in both fields. The course will allow learners to prepare for university to study business and sports science-based degrees.
BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Business ½ is equivalent to half an A-level.
NCFE 60 Credit in Sport is equivalent to one A level.
In the business you will have the chance to develop different skills including IT and presentation skills.
Business Mandatory units are as follows:
- Exploring business
- Developing a marketing campaign
- Personal and business finance
- Recruitment and the selection process
In Sport classes you will study anatomy and physiology and gain an understanding of how the body works. You will learn how to create and develop training/fitness programmes for athletes/clients to improve their performance or lifestyle. There will also be an opportunity to coach and gain qualifications. There will be a range of practical activities which you will need to complete.

Course Outcomes
Progression opportunities to higher education to do a degree/foundation degree, apprenticeship or HND course.
To provide a solid base of business and sports knowledge and skills to allow students to progress easily to higher education and/or employment.
Entry Requirements
- 4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and maths (or an equivalent level 2 literacy qualification). Alternatively, BTEC First Diploma in Business at Merit grade or above plus GCSE English and maths at grade 4 or above.
- (Exceptions to entry requirements onto our level 3 qualifications may be considered).
Assessment

The two qualifications will be assessed through internal assignments, presentations and two exams for business.
