Course Content

To be awarded the Level 3 Diploma in Skills for Business, learners must achieve a minimum of 6 units (minimum of 60 credits) from a choice of 10 graded optional units:

Mandatory units:

  • Business culture and responsibilities

  • Deliver customer service in a business environment

  • Porduce documents in a business environment

  • Solve problems in a business environment

  • Work with others in a business environment

  • Communicate in a business environment

  • Innovation in a business environment

  • Manage and improve own performance in a business environment

  • Respong to change in a business environment

Course Outcomes

Aims and objectives of this qualification This qualification aims to:

  • Provide learners with the essential knowledge of how to carry out every day and more complex administrative tasks such as managing information, planning meetings and delivering presentations.

The objectives of this qualification are to provide learners with:

  • an understanding of the essential skills required to work successfully in a business environment
  • the skills required to solve problems in a business environment
  • an understanding of business culture and responsibilities
  • the ability to successfully communicate and work with others in a business environment
  • the opportunity to develop the skills required to manage and improve their own performance in a business environment.

Progression

Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to:

  • Level 3 and 4 Diplomas in Business Administration
  • Level 3 and 4 Diplomas in Customer Service
  • Level 3 and 4 Diplomas in Management
  • Foundation Degree in a business-related discipline.

Entry Requirements

This qualification is designed for learners aged 16 and above who want to progress into employment in the first instance, or further learning, depending on their own needs and interests. Previous achievement at Level 2 is compulsory & GCSE

Assessment

Coursework and a portfolio which require learners to analyse, draw conclusions, interpret or justify, which are all examples of higher level skills. This means that evidence provided for the portfolio will also demonstrate the development and use of higher level learning skills in preparation for higher education.

Equipment

Use of Moodle, Computer at home, text books and other independent study material as required. Further costs are required to support external visits.
